Foundation F.C. provides young athletes and families in the Ann Arbor area with a “middle option” between recreational leagues and travel clubs. For multi-activity kids who love soccer – and for parents who value balance – Foundation offers:
- Competition without specialization
- Inclusive, mixed-ability teams that play in the Western Suburban Soccer League
- Coaching from experienced soccer players on technique, tactical awareness, and sportsmanship
- Seasonal, not annual, commitments
- One required practice per week, with flexibility to accommodate other activities and family priorities
- Half the price (and half the time commitment) of travel clubs
- Reduced fee program for families on a tight budget
Foundation teams are the Fyrd, inspired by the voluntary, time-limited armies of medieval England. The Fyrd is also a community of families and coaches who, together, seek to create a supportive (and fun!) environment where every player is encouraged to reach their potential as a person.
The Fyrd currently includes two teams of rising fourth grade boys, with growing interest across genders and age groups. Foundation F.C. would love to hear from you if you have a player (or a team!) that would like to join the Fyrd!
